The Station Board

Terms of Service

Last updated: May 10, 2026

1. Acceptance of Terms

By accessing or using The Station Board ("the Service"), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service. If you do not agree to these terms, you may not use the Service. These terms apply to all users, including fire departments, emergency services organizations, and any other entities that access the Service.

2. Description of Service

The Station Board is a web-based operational information platform designed for fire stations and emergency services organizations. The Service allows departments to create and maintain a shared board for apparatus status, out-of-service notices, and operational notes to facilitate shift handoffs and internal communication.

3. Permitted Use and Restrictions

The Service is intended solely for operational, non-sensitive internal communications. You agree that you will not use the Service to store, transmit, or display any of the following:

  • Protected Health Information (PHI) or any data subject to HIPAA
  • Patient information, incident report details, or medical records
  • Sensitive personnel information, disciplinary records, or HR data
  • Classified, confidential, or law enforcement-sensitive information
  • Any content that violates applicable federal, state, or local laws

The Service is not a substitute for Computer-Aided Dispatch (CAD) systems, records management systems, or any other mission-critical emergency operations platform. It is designed for supplemental, shift-change communication only.

4. Department ID and Account Security

Access to your department's board is controlled by your Department ID. You are solely responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your Department ID and for all activity that occurs under it. We strongly recommend choosing a unique, non-obvious Department ID that is not based on common abbreviations or publicly known identifiers. We are not liable for any loss or damage arising from your failure to maintain the security of your Department ID.

5. Subscription Plans and Billing

The Service is offered on a subscription basis following a free trial period. Subscription fees are billed monthly. You may change your plan at any time; changes take effect immediately for trial accounts and upon email verification for paid accounts. We reserve the right to modify pricing with reasonable advance notice. Continued use of the Service after a price change constitutes acceptance of the new pricing.

6. Trial Period

New accounts are provided a free trial period as specified at the time of registration. Upon expiration of the trial, the board will become read-only until a paid subscription is activated. All data is preserved during the read-only period. We reserve the right to delete boards that remain inactive and unpaid for an extended period, with reasonable advance notice to the contact email on file.

7. Availability and Uptime

We make reasonable efforts to maintain the availability of the Service, but we do not guarantee uninterrupted access. The Service may be temporarily unavailable due to maintenance, updates, or circumstances beyond our control. The Station Board is not intended to be used as a primary or sole source of operational information in emergency situations. Departments should maintain backup communication procedures.

8. Intellectual Property

All content, design, and software comprising the Service are the property of The Station Board and its operators, protected by applicable intellectual property laws. You retain ownership of the content you enter into the Service (operational notes, apparatus names, etc.), and you grant us a limited license to store and display that content solely for the purpose of providing the Service to you.

9. Disclaimer of Warranties

THE SERVICE IS PROVIDED "AS IS" AND "AS AVAILABLE" WITHOUT WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND, EITHER EXPRESS OR IMPLIED, INCLUDING BUT NOT LIMITED TO WARRANTIES OF MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, OR NON-INFRINGEMENT. WE DO NOT WARRANT THAT THE SERVICE WILL BE ERROR-FREE, SECURE, OR CONTINUOUSLY AVAILABLE.

10. Limitation of Liability

TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY APPLICABLE LAW, THE STATION BOARD AND ITS OPERATORS SHALL NOT BE LIABLE FOR ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES ARISING FROM YOUR USE OF OR INABILITY TO USE THE SERVICE, EVEN IF WE HAVE BEEN ADVISED OF THE POSSIBILITY OF SUCH DAMAGES.

11. Termination

We reserve the right to suspend or terminate access to the Service at our discretion, with or without notice, for conduct that we believe violates these Terms of Service or is harmful to other users, us, or third parties. You may terminate your account at any time by contacting us.

12. Changes to Terms

We reserve the right to modify these Terms of Service at any time. We will provide notice of significant changes by updating the "Last updated" date at the top of this page and, where appropriate, by notifying the contact email associated with your account. Continued use of the Service after changes become effective constitutes acceptance of the revised terms.

13. Contact
